Kathie Brekke and the Apostle Blues Band perform entertaining and inspirational music for all ages in a variety of styles. The band recorded its first CD in November of 2000 and began performing more frequently after its debut at the 2001 SpiritFest Midwest. The Apostle Blues Band has continued to energize crowds throughout the region with familiar songs, a powerful horn section, well-blended vocals and a fun show at events such as, WE FEST, SpiritFest 2002, Family Jam, fairs, conventions, reunions and Jazz Nights at the Fargo Ramada Plaza. Kathie and the Apostles share God’s love, peace and joy through music that is familiar, energetic, and is extremely unique in sound.

Kathie (keyboard/lead vocals and arranger) leads a nine-piece band that is comprised of family and friends. Family members include her  sister (Lynette Guida) on vocals, brother (Wally Johnson) on drums, niece (Sarah Dee Guida) on vocals, son (Daniel Brekke) on vocals and husband (Shawn Brekke) on trumpet. The remaining "Apostles" are friends and professional musicians/teachers in the Fargo-Moorhead area, and they include Kent Karch (bass), Harley Sommerfeld (saxophone), Dr. Kyle Mack (trombone) and John Pederson (trumpet).

In addition to the Apostle Blues Band performing schedule, Kathie teaches at MSUM, Concordia College and ministers in music at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead, MN. For more information go to www.kathiebrekke.com

42nd Street performs entertaining, fun and elegant jazz, dinner or dance music for all ages in a variety of styles. They currently are the house band at the Ramada Plaza Suites Jazz Night at Basie's in Fargo.

Kathie Brekke (keyboardist/singer) Kent Karch (bass/vocals), Harley Sommerfeld (saxophone, clarinet, Flute), John Pederson (trumpet) and Jim Knudson (drums) create a big band sound that can provide dinner music and light entertainment to performing some of the best dance standards from each decade.
